Symptoms: Device Management and Media Management show tapes with two barcodes, one in parenthesis. -
Resolution
This may be the result of drive and drive bay mismatches. Solution 1170 would apply to that.
It may also result from opening a library door and changing tapes without doing an 'Open Door' in Device Management.
To clear up the inconsistent tape records in the database do the following:
1. Unload the drives before opening the door
2. In Device Management, Right click on the library, "OPEN DOOR."
3. Then In Media Management find the erroneous duplicate barcode tapes, Right Click on them and select 'Remove.'
4. Then right click on the library in Device management again and select "Door Close.'
5. Allow it to scan all the media again. The tape labels should come back correctly.
If they don't, they would need to be 'Blanked.' -
