Symptoms:
When bringing up the NetVault Server's nvgui from a client of the same OS,
question marks are displayed on all clients in all nvgui windows.
Reasons
The netvault client used to connect to the NetVault server, is missing the necessary icons to dispaly.
GUI Icons are located under /usr/netvault/gui/ directory.
Specifically the /usr/netvault/gui/CachedPits/Icons directory, contains all the .bmp files which are the actual icons used to construct the NVGUI.
If this directory doesn't exist or contains corrupt data it will be impossible to list the icons.
- bring up the netvault server's gui on a different machine of the same OS as the problem client
- if successful, copy the /usr/netvault/gui/CachedPits/Icons directory from the working machine to the problem client.
- if unsuccessful, it might be necessary to copy the entire /usr/netvault/gui directory from the working client to the problem client.
