NDMP backup completes successfully but the backup gives a warning message such as one of the following:
DUMP: Total Dir to FH time spent is greater than 15 percent of phase 3 total time. Please verify the settings of backup application and the network connectivity.
Or
The control connection is established on 192.168.40.17 which is hosted on port e0M. This is a low bandwidth port and might impact performance.
The warning messages come from the dump/logging utility on the filer. Sometimes the condition can be diagnose using the documentation provided by the manufacturer; however, in many circumstances, the details regarding what could be failing on the appliance can only be determined by the device support team as information is likely to be proprietary.
General troubleshooting steps include testing with a different selection set, using different credentials, or discarding any environmental situation such as the communication network.
The warning and error messages cannot be suppressed on NetVault as these log entries are required to debug any failure. If the job completes fine, the message could be ignored. Check the appliance documentation for additional information on the messages and for ways to disable the warning or error notifications. The appliance manufacture support team needs to be involved to investigate further.
