NVBU Logs contain - Failed to remove items from device 'SmartDisk - xxx' : 'Unspecified failure’
NVBU jobs remain in "Waiting for media" status and diagnosing the media request shows:
"SmartDisk "Device has too many streams" - yet there are fewer NVBU streams active than the configured soft stream limit.
SmartDisk has also storageservice processes running, for which the corresponding NVBU backup jobs are no longer running.
Deduplications may not be starting due to the excess number of storageservice processes.
A temporary network failure during a backup may be noticed by NVBU (thus failing the backup job) but not by the receiver.
Hence SmartDisk may have storageservice processes waiting to receive data that will never arrive.
This may also be caused by an anti-virus breaking tcp connections.
SmartDisk 2.0.1 Hotfix 1 (SmartDisk 2.0.3) resolves this issue by introducing TCP keepalive support.
This enables SmartDisk to notice that the connection is down, and stop trying to receive the backup stream in its side.
