The NetVault Backup Software Versions 8.2.X and later supports the new IBM LTO-6 Tape Drives and Oracle Storagetek SL150 tape library in All NetVault Supported Platforms. (IBM TS2260, TS2360, TS2900, TS3200, TS3500 Tape Libraries)
You MUST install the Device Template File (pch_ibmlto6-1-0-1-0.npk) in order for Netvault to support the LTO generation 6 Tape drive.

Here is how to install the Device Template File (pch_ibmlto6-1-0-1-0.npk):
1)- Download the Device Template File (pch_ibmlto6-1-0-1-0.npk) for the IBM LTO-6 Tape Drive by clicking on the link for the patch above.
2)- On the NetVault Backup Server Machine, place the file pch_ibmlto6-1-0-1-0.npk into the folder %netvault%\packages\extra
3)- From the NetVault Backup Server Machine, launch the NetVault GUI and click on the "Client Management" Icon
4)- Right-click on the NetVault machine configured as the Backup Server in the Clients list and select Install Software from the pop-up menu.
Navigate to the location of the Template file software (i.e. "%netvault%\packages\extrapch_ibmlto6-1-0-1-0.npk" file). Select the file and click on Open to begin the installation process.
Once installation has completed, a successful installation message will appear in the Install Software dialog box.
After the template software has been successfully installed, the device can now be successfully added to the NetVault Server for use.
