Question 1. - Does NVBU limit the number of stream it uses to 8 by default.
Answer. - Correct, this is what was originally chosen for NVSD and was based on network bandwidth consumed by 8 simultaneous streaming connections to the device
Question 2. - If there are two NVBU clients each doing 8 DD Boost backup jobs to a DD device concurrently, the number of dd boost streams NVBU uses is 16?
Answer. - Depends on the plugin. If the plugin isn’t using multiple streams then the total number of required streams would be 16
Question 3. - Will NVBU limit the concurrent jobs to 8?
Answer. - The stream count is communicated back to the Media Manager. If a plugin requests Media for a stream and the Media Manager realizes a particular Boost device is already at its stream limit, a different device will be used for that media request. When the Boost device drops back below its current stream limit, it will once again become a candidate for media requests.
