This article details the process of powering on virtual standby VMs from recovery points.
Virtual Standby can be configured to power on Virtual Standby VMs from recovery point snapshots automatically when the monitoring server does not detect a heartbeat from the source server.
Optionally, Virtual Standby lets you power on Virtual Standby virtual machines from recovery point snapshots manually in the event a source server fails, an emergency occurs, or you want to offline a source node for maintenance.
Note, the heartbeat system monitoring is handled internally by ESXi, VMWare, and Hyper-V and not from within the AppAssure API.
