Error Populating Data to the Reporting Database -
Description
The following error appears in the Events section on the Replay Admin Console.
“Error populating data to the reporting database;
Reporting database was not initialized.”

Resolution
There are multiple solutions to this issue.
Solution 1 – Rename the Reporting Database
- Stop the Replay Services on the Core.
- Rename the Reporting.Database.sdf file to Reporting.Database.old.
- 64 bit: C:\Program Files x86\AppAssure Software\Replay Server\server64
- 32 bit: C:\Program Files\AppAssure Software\Replay Server
- Restart the Replay Services.
Solution 2 – Issue with the SQL Compact Application
- Stop the Replay Core Service.
- Remove the following programs using Windows Uninstall:
- Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU
- Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Sp2 x64 ENU
- Download the latest Microsoft SQL Server Compact release, located here.
- Follow the SQL Server Compact installation guide contained within the link mentioned in Step 3.
- Check Windows Updates for any new .NET Framework updates.
- Rename the C:\Program Files (x86)\AppAssure Software\Replay Server\Server64\Reporting.Database.sdf to.old.
- Reboot the server.
- Restart the Replay Core Service.
