When launching the Appliance tab, you receive the following error:
Solution 1
1. Run Windows Update
a. Install all the updates founds – look for MVC updates
2. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1491
a. Click on download, and select AspNetMVC3ToolsUpdateSetup.exe
3. Run the AspNetMVC3ToolsUpdateSetup.exe
4. Re-launch the Appliance Tab
Solution 2
If the error message still appears on the Appliance tab, thisusually means a broken install of MVC. To get this corrected we had to manually uninstall MVC.
Find the uninstall string:
Registry: Computer\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserDate\<SID>\Products\<Product ID>\InstallProperties
May need to search from Products for the DisplayName, “Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 3”
Some Appliances also have “Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 4” and this needs to be removed as well
Find the Uninstall String
Run the MsiExec.exe /X{UUID} from administrator command prompt
Once you uninstall MVC, reinstall it with the update package above and launch the UI. You DO NOT need to re-run the RUU provided that all other appliance components (SRM, LSI, OpenManage, etc.) are working correctly.
