You may experience a problem where the Quest Migration Manager for Exchange agents (mail source agent, mail target agent, calendar agent, etc) are unable to log on to the System Attendant mailbox. All permissions are in place, and tests using Outlook and MFCMAPI are successful. You may also be able to log in to the System Attendant mailbox using Outlook, when logged on as the service account.
The following messages may be seen in the agent's log file:
"11/9/2007 11:27:19 AM CSession::Logon TraceMsg 4800 Logging on to the mailbox '/o=ORG/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=SERVER/cn=Microsoft System Attendant' (Server: 'SERVER', user: 'domain\account')."
"11/9/2007 11:27:19 AM CSession::Logon Error -2147221219 The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed. - MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER (Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store) Low level error: 0x0 File: 'aeWrapHelpers.h' Line: '264'"
What causes this?
This may be caused by an Exchange patch or other software, which causes the agent to fail when using the DLL files that are shipped with the agent.
The following steps may resolve the issue:
Open the Config.ini file for one of the agents (\\servername\qmmex$servername$\agent name\), and edit the following line, deleting everything to the right of the "=" sign:
ExchDllsPath=
This will force the agent to use the Exchange native DLLs rather than it's own. If this agent begins working and logging on to mailboxes, then the problem has been identified.
To apply this change for all agents (in QMM):
1. From the Migration Manager console, under the Exchange Data tab, select Tools | Options.
2. Highlight the "Additional parameters for agents configuration files". If this is not available, you can make this visible by opening regedit and navigating to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Manager\CurrentVersion\Exchange Data\ and creating the following Value:
Name: ShowAdditionalParameters
Type: DWORD
Value: 1
If the console is on a 64-bit system then the registry would be HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Aelita\Migration Manager\CurrentVersion\Exchange Data
3. Look for "ExchDllsPath" in the "Additional Parameters" list. If it is not present:
Click "Add" and enter "ExchDllspath" with a blank value
Under "Apply to", Select "Agent Configuration" and "All Agents" and click OK. This will update all config.ini files to reflect the change.
This issue can also affect the console. Please see SOL36700 for more information:
