"Disk Free Space" rule fires alarms for Optical drives.
Cause
Since Optical Drives are typically non volatil storage, it will always fire alarms for those.
This is a known enhancement request in Foglight referenced by Tracking ID IC-3909.
Resolution
Please change the scope of the "Disk Free Space" rule following these steps:
Go to "Administration | Rules & Notifications│Rules"
Look for rule: "Disk Free Space"
Do a copy of the original and work on the copy, click on the copy, then click on "View and Edit", and then on "Rule Editor"
Click on "Rule Definition" and under "Rule Scope", replace the logic for this: !LogicalDisk : host.hostType != null and host.hostType.name = 'Physical' and host.detail.topologyTypeName != 'HPVServer' and host.detail.topologyTypeName != 'VMWESXServer' and filesystemType != 'CDFS' and filesystemType != 'UDFS'
Enhancement request IC-3909 has been submitted to Development for a fix in a future release. Please check the Release Notes of latest software to determine which bug fixes have been included in this release.
