The user will notice shortname and fully qualified name for the Instance in the agent log, and FGLAM log. It will seem like object duplication. However, there are no object duplication under Management Server | Object Cleanup |
click on Agent and Host, Search for the Shortname of the instance
Database agent log states:
INFO [INSTANE NAME.DOMAIN-highPriorityPool-1] com.quest.qsi.fason.sqlserver.agent.SqlServerAgentData - Physical host name changed from null to ShortNameInstaneName.
The Connection Wizard runs the DBSS_DB_Version_8_0_0_0.sql which gets the output of select@@servername based on the Auto Discovery Wizard for SQL Server from the Database dashboard.
RESOLUTION 1
The user can go ahead and run “select @@servername” from your Query Analyzer. This will show the actual instance name.
The user can update the Servername property in SQL Server as per https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143799(v=sql.110).aspx
RESOLUTION 2
Add a hostfile entry on the Agent Manager server host within the etc/host.
Add IP address Shortname FullyQualifiedName
