Can the same Oracle source replicate to an Oracle target and an Open Target?
Yes, it is possible to set up replication from an Oracle source to both an Oracle target and an Open Target. The following describes the way to formulate the config file:
In the config file entry, for an Oracle target, the database name (also referred to as SID in case of Oracle) need to be prefixed by “o.” and for the Open Target it needs to be prefixed by “r.” as the following examples show:
A. If the same source table is replicating to both Oracle and Open Target:
src_owner.table tgt_owner.table host@r.database_name
src_owner.table tgt_owner.table host@o.database_name
(where the Oracle SID name which is also referred here as database_name is prefixed by ‘o.’ and the database name for Open Target is prefixed by ‘r.’)
B. If different tables are replicating to Oracle and Open Target:
src_owner.table tgt_owner.table host@r.database_name
src_owner1.table1 tgt_owner1.table1 host@o.database_name
