Storage: Unable to monitor storage devices after upgrading Cartridge for Storage Management 4.3
Description
Storage: Unable to monitor storage devices after upgrading Cartridge for Storage Management 4.3
Cause
VFGLS-3450
SSL communications may be broken after upgrade from FSM 4.2 to FSM 4.3 as a result of the recent JDK security updates that disable the RC4 ciphersuites - refer to Oracle bug JDK-8076221. As a result, Storage agents may fail to connect to systems that offer only RC4 ciphersuites. To ensure a smooth upgrade, we recommend customers to update any collection targets that offer only RC4 to allow other, more secure ciphers. If modifying certificates is not possible, please refer to JDK instructions for re-enabling RC4-based ciphersuites from this link. Alternatively, re-validating a collection target will make use of non-SSL communication channels to that target if available.
Resolution
Resolution 1
Update the affected device(s) ciphersuites.
Resolution 2
Use Cartridge for Storage Management 4.2.1 or below
