Directory Exporter seems to freeze/hang and nothing happens once running. No progress is made.
Other Symptoms:
When attempting to launch the Novell/GroupWise Address book from the GroupWise Client an error message may pop up, or an Exchange Server client connect prompt may appear.
Possible causes:
a) This may be due to the incorrect installation order of the Outlook and GroupWise mail clients.
b) Prompts (or errors/warnings) show up when attempting to access the Novell/GroupWise Address book. Presence of some third-party applications can be one of the factors causing these prompts to appear.
If there are any third-party application related prompts showing up when trying to launch the client or accessing the address book, uninstall or disable it and run Directory Exporter again. Otherwise, perform the following steps:
1. Uninstall Groupwise Client.
2. Uninstall Microsoft Outlook.
3. Reboot the workstation.
4. Install Groupwise Client.
5. Prior to installing Outlook, open and launch the GroupWise client and the Novell/GroupWise Address book (no prompts or errors should appear).
6. If step '5' is successful, continue with the Outlook installation.
To troubleshoot a GroupWise Migrator for Exchange issue, it can be useful to verify the ability to log into the GroupWise client natively and access the address book successfully. Furthermore, observe if any third-party application prompts for any information.
In essence, GroupWise Migrator for Exchange automates the steps of logging natively into the GroupWise client and performing the desired operation. It will pass on the credentials entered at the "Specify GroupWise Server Information" stage, use them to log into the GroupWise client in the background and then extract data from the GroupWise server. It will not handle a prompt/pop-up, if any, emanating from extraneous software.
