Error received during the LiteSpeed 2005 Installation:
"Error 1722 There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.
A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.
Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
This may display when attempting to install LiteSpeed from a share drive or from a Terminal Service connection. This is a InstalShield issue that fails when running remote, most of the times this will happen on Windows 2003.
InstallShield failure. The Error message 1722 simply indicates that the installation process has failed, it does not indicate the root cause of the failure.
WORKAROUND:
a. Try to run the LiteSpeed Installation locally.
b. If A still failed, tried to update mdac to 2.6.x or later.
c. If A and B still failed, go to c:\windows\inf\ and run MDAC.INF
It will require a reboot and I386 CD.
