How to use Windows Task Scheduler to run AppAssure PowerShell scripts (Alternative) (4034440)

You need to run AppAssure Powershell scripts on a schedule (i.e. custom reports) as a task using Windows Task Scheduler. Best practices can be found here.  This article details a faster way to configure scripts to run on a schedule.

Note: PowerShell 3.0 or higher is required

1. Save the PowerShell script as a ps1 file to a memorable location (e.g., C:\AppAssureScripts\Script.ps1).  Avoid any spaces in the folder name
2. Open Windows Task Scheduler and select Task Scheduler Library
3. Click Create Basic Task
4. Give the task a name and set your schedule preferences
5. Set the Action as Start a program
6. The Program/script should point to the location of PowerShell, which by default is: C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
7. In the Add arguments box, set the execution policy for the script to run without prompts and point the task to your saved script.  For example: -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File C:\AppAssureScripts\Script.ps1
