CPUU attempts to process an Outlook profile, however one (or some) items have failed as reported in the CPUU log.
The following is an example of what could be seen in the log:
Statistics Getting Updating Rolling Back
21/01/2015 08:56:25 2304 [Info] CONTAB Ok Failed -
[Info] Profile 'profile_name': Cannot update profile. / Profile was successfully rolled back.
CPUU will perform a Ping Test to the Source and Target Exchange environment (which will depend on what portion of processing CPUU is in) to ensure its availability and obtain an IP Address as well.
In this specific case, the following failure caused the processing of CONTAB data to fail:
21/01/2015 08:56:10 2304 [Trace] Pinging server 'CAS.DOMAIN.COM' for profile 'profile_name'...
21/01/2015 08:56:10 2304 [Trace] Ping result for packet 1: 'Echo status: General failure'.
21/01/2015 08:56:10 2304 [Trace] Ping result for packet 2: 'Echo status: General failure'.
21/01/2015 08:56:10 2304 [Trace] Ping result for packet 3: 'Echo status: General failure'.
21/01/2015 08:56:11 2304 [Trace] Ping result for packet 4: 'Echo status: General failure'.
"A general failure. This error can be returned for some malformed ICMP packets."
To work around this issue, simply use the Client Profile Updating Utility Configuration to remove the availability check on the Network section of the utility:
Alternatively, the following parameter can also be manually added to the CPUU.ini file which achieves the same end result:
Note, this will not remove any functionality regarding how CPUU processes the Outlook profile. The entry will simply turn off the ping tests to ensure availability.
