When migrating messages from Novell Groupwise to Microsoft Exchange using Groupwise Migrator, the migration may fail on a particular message.
Occasionally, GroupWise Migrator for Exchange may fail on a particular message. The message can be identified by looking at the end of the error log file and searching for the text "subject:."
After identifying the problematic message, consider the following options for successfully completing the migration:
1) There may be times a user or few users mailbox are having difficulty migrating. GWCheck is the GroupWise utility that can be run against those users to scan for corruption. Please review our GWCheck knowledge article here. Remove migrated items from the target before attempting the migration again.
2) Delete the problematic message from GroupWise, and remove migrated items from the target before attempting the migration again.
It may help to run GWCheck at least three times against the archive and/or mailbox. Novell advises in its documentation, "It can sometimes be helpful to run GWCheck multiple times, because as some errors are fixed, others are uncovered."
