Placing the services in debug mode and creating log files will facilitate troubleshooting the source of a problem.
Enabling Debug Mode For The Desktop Authority Administrative Service:
Step 1. Via Regedit.exe, browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DAAdminSvc.
Step 2. Create a REG_DWORD called SLDEBUG with a value of 1. Change the value to 0 to disable debug.
Note: The path to the log file is C:\Windows\System32\DAAdminSvc_.log.
Note: On 64 bits architecture operating systems, the log file is C:\Windows\SysWOW64\DAAdminSvc_.log.
Enabling Debug Mode For The Desktop Authority Update Service:
Step 1. Via Regedit.exe, browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UpdateService.
Step 2. Create a REG_DWORD called SLDEBUG with a value of 1. Change the value to 0 to disable debug.
Note: The path to the log file is C:\Program Files (x86)\ScriptLogic\Update Service\daupdsvc*.log.
