The folder path 'Program Files (x86)' contains an invalid character (4276573)

The error message "The folder path 'Program Files (x86)' contains an invalid character" appears when trying to install the Desktop Authority Reporting Tool on a client computer.

This is a Microsoft Windows Installer issue and is not related to Desktop Authority. In the registry of the workstation the value data for "Program Files (x86)" may contain invalid characters

Workaround:

As a workaround you may alternatively use a third party MSI editor application (such as ORCA MSI Editor) to edit the MSI and enter an alternative installation path in order to avoid the error.
