The splash screen indicates that Desktop Authority is installed but the key code is only licensed for ScriptLogic Professional or ScriptLogic Enterprise. In order to connect to a client using Desktop Authority, the client must be properly licensed to use Desktop Authority.
Enter a valid registration code for Desktop Authority. There are multiple methods to determine if the registration code was intended for Desktop Authority:
Note: A valid register.ini for Desktop Authority license is required.
1. See what is listed for the product name in the client information section. If the product name is ScriptLogic, then that is a good indication that a ScriptLogic registration code has been entered and not a Desktop Authority code.
2. The original email from Quest Software containing the code specifically states which product the registration code was generated for.
3. Reregister the code (see below) that was received and a message will be presented stating which product was purchased.
4. Or, send the registration code to Quest Software Support in order to determine which product it was intended for. If you still notice that the "ScriptLogic engine has determined that Desktop Authority is not licensed for this computer." the steps you will want to follow are as is:
A. In one of your profiles go to Remote Management and create a new element.
B. Specify to deploy the remote management service with the desired port that the service will run on.
C. This will ensure that the Desktop Authority Service is then licensed the next time the user has logged on to the domain, and validated for this new element.
