When attempting to launch the Desktop Authority management console, a generic “unexpected error occurred” message may be displayed. Clicking on the Technical Information link will provide more specific information regarding the error condition as depicted in the screenshot below.
The Windows Event Viewer may also contain the following entry: "Event ID 9001 Message Text: The log for database DAConfiguration is not available. Check the event log for related error messages. Resolve any errors and restart the database."
To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
1. Launch the Microsoft SQL Management Studio Console and connect to the Desktop Authority databases.
2. Right click the DAConfiguration database and choose Properties.
3. Select Options and under the Automatic settings look for the Auto Close value. If the value is set to TRUE, change the value to FALSE.
4. Click the OK Button to save the changes.
5. Launch the DA management console in order to verify that the issue has been resolved.
