When accessing the reporting console from a workstation an error stating "Intialize failed: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel,cannot be used for communication because it is in the faulted state" is generated.
The error is caused by a misconfiguration of the "Authentication" settings for the Desktop Authority Component Web Service and Desktop Authority Console in the Internet Information Services console.
On the server where Desktop Authority is installed open the Internet Information Services console by clicking Start| Run | and entering inetmgr in the run line. Once the IIS console is open select the DesktopAuthorityComponentWebServices and open the "Authentication" section.
Verify that the "Anonymous Authentication" and "Windows Authentication" options are set to "Enabled". The settings should be set the same way for the DesktopAuthorityConsole. Once the settings have been updated restart IIS on the server were Desktop Authority is installed, and reporting console access from a remote workstation should be available.
