Description
All gathering tasks are failing with the following message: Operation failed on agent localhost. Reason: 'ADC Error: The repository at "Default InTrust Audit Repository" has multiple indexes, which is an unsupported configuration. The extra indexes could not be cleared automatically. Please delete irrelevant indexes to make sure the repository has only one index. For details, see the Working with Repositories document from the InTrust documentation set., error code 0x8adc1005'

Cause
The Repository is Deleted from Intrust Manager and then recreated with the same name and pointing to the same Repository Path in Windows, during creation Indexing is enabled and either using the default Repository Folder or custom path duplicate indexing occurs causing all gathering jobs to fail.

Resolution
To identify the correct indexing GUID so that the incorrect indexes may be deleted, run the index_support_tool2.exe attached to this Knowledge Article:- Extract the tool to the InTrust server.
- Stop all InTrust services on the server running the indexing.
- Backup IndexingRoot$ folder of the problem repository (optional)
- Run the tool(attached) using the following command:
index_support_tool2.exe --get_index_id -r Repository_path (Repository path "UNC path for repository")The output will show the working index GUID. See example below:This is a correct index, other indexes in this repository IndexingRoot$ folder should be deleted.NOTE: You have to repeat these steps for each impacted repository. Once the tool output is available, check the ... IndexingRoot$\storages.2 and storages.3 folders (if applicable). There should not be any other GUIDs in them except for the one in the output. If there are any delete them.- After having identified and removed the incorrect indexes, restart the InTrust services.
