Is InTrust Server and Knowledge Portal designed to take advantage of the additional memory address space when the /3GB switch in the boot.ini is set according to Microsoft KB Article ID 833721?
Microsoft KB Article ID 833721 states:
"/3GB
This switch forces x86-based systems to allocate 3 GB of virtual address space to programs and 1 GB to the kernel and to executive components. A program must be designed to take advantage of the additional memory address space. ..."
InTrust Server is not built to meet what is required for an application to support the /3GB option in BOOT.INI.
Knowledge Portal is not a separate application but just an extension that is run by SQL Report Services in its context.
With both applications, no special consideration for the /3GB option is made.
