Description
GPO Admin Version 5.17 cannot be installed - Service is not starting after Installation. S Installation is running and failing when starting GPO Admin Service.
Cause
We have verified a defect in the code where, during service startup, we attempt to confirm the SPN on the service account in the domain where the GPOADmin server is located. This check is new to GPOADmin 5.17. When the service account is from a different domain than the GPOADmin server this check will fail, causing the service to fail to start.
Resolution
The issue was already resolved on GPOADmin 5.18. Upgrade to version 5.18.
If upgrading to 5.18 is not possible, a workaround would be to create and use a service account from the same domain as the GPOADmin service host machine.
