Description
When trying to register a GPO, or check in and deploy, the following error may occur:
"Found invalid data while decoding"

Resolution
This can occur if the gpt.ini file is missing in the SYSVOL folder for the GPO (DomainsName | Policies | GPOGuid) or if the version in the gpt.ini file does not match the versionNumber attribute for the GPO objects in AD (under CN={GPO_GUID},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=domainname.
If the gpt.ini is missing, create a new file with the following as the contents:
[General]Version=xxxxxWhere xxxxx is the value of the versionNumber attribute for the GPO object under CN={GPO_GUID},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=domainname.If the gpt.ini file does exist, confirm the Version number in the file matches the versionNumber attribute value.
