  This course is for Oracle DBAs who needs to learn how to best leverage the Toad DBA Suite for Oracle for diagnosing and resolving database performance issues and efficiently managing complex database environments.

  There is a test that correlates to the course. This test is just a knowledge check of what you have learned.

  A good working knowledge of Toad for Oracle or the completion of the Toad for Oracle Fundamentals course is necessary. A solid understanding of Oracle database administration tasks is necessary.

  • Install and configure the Toad DBA Suite for Oracle
  • Customize the look and feel of the various components to suit the needs of the participant
  • Understand the components of the Toad DBA Suite for Oracle
  • Use the DBA functions of the Suite to automate frequent and repetitive tasks, perform and schedule database maintenance operations
  • Use the various browsers and monitoring components to view database activity
  • Use Toad’s reporting utilities to manage and track database objects

  Installation and Configuration Overview

  • Installation requirements for each component of the Toad DBA Suite for Oracle
  • User account configuration requirements, database objects and privileges required
  • Understanding the interaction of the bundle of tools within the Suite

  Maintenance Utilities (Health Check, Jump Search, RMAN, Database Browser, Backup Reporter)

  • Collectively view all managed databases and enable the drill down to objects and execution of tasks all within the same window
  • Simplify routine tasks, including the administration of users, roles, object privileges, storage and more
  • Automate the management and maintenance reporting of overall database health (including security vulnerabilities), schemas, index rebuilds, etc.
  • Collaborate on the use of shared scripts, etc. (Project Manager)
  • Initiate RMAN backups on managed databases, report on RMAN backups

• Format

  Students complete this course through self-paced, web-based training. The course presents product functionality and provides the participant the opportunity for hands-on practice resolving real-world problems through use case driven simulations. Each lesson contains closing questions allowing for a knowledge check. The lessons in the course build on each other and each new lesson allows the participant the opportunity to reinforce what they have learned in previous lessons. There is a test that correlates to the course.  Upon passing this test, the participant has the opportunity to achieve a Toad for Oracle Advanced DBA Certificate of Completion.
