Please follow below steps to resolve as per release notes:
The following steps are therefore strongly recommended before running the Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.0.1 installer to upgrade your existing installation:
Manually shut down your Foglight Management Server. Do not depend on the installer to shut down your running Management Server and/or embedded database, due to the timing problem. Ensure that the Management Server has stopped running before launching the Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.0.1 installer.
To verify that all Management Server processes have stopped, type the following command:
Windows:
tasklist /v > tasks.txt
Then review the tasks.txt file for a 'fms' entry.
Linux:
ps -C fms
Important: If your Management Server uses an external database, do not stop the database. It is important that it continue to run during the upgrade.
This Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.0.1 release does not contain the logic that causes the timing issue, so future upgrades will not trigger it.
If the above step, still doesn't resolve the problem, please make sure:
Application Experience Service is enabled & running.
Please check if it was disabled, then enable it back and try the upgrade.
