Updated to IC 5.9.4.1 but still the process monitoring fails to see a process called OSWatcher.sh running on Linux. The process is clearly running based on ps output but even with the IC agent set to collect all process information, it's not showing in the list.
Example ps listing:
COMMAND
/bin/sh ./OSWatcher.sh
The IC dashboard CPU by Process view does not show the process collected per the entries in the User Defined Processes of the Monitor agent.
The .sh script is being spawned by the bash shell /bin/sh, so the Process Name is shown differently in Unix.
Example of a typical process not spawned by a bash shell. The scenario for dagent is collected as shown in the Problem Description screenshot.
As of IC cartridge 5.9.3, the process is gleaned from the /proc/PID/exe symbolic link.
malibu -> ls -l /proc/63905/exe lrwxrwxrwx 1 oracle dba 0 Jun 10 03:46 /proc/63905/exe -> /bin/bash
