How do I run a report against a group of VMs? (4309237)

I want to run a report against a group of VMs that are a subset of a folder and spread across several ESX hosts.

Create a service and run the report against the service.

A) Create a Service (method 1)

1) Under Dashboards | Services | Service Builder | Add a new Category

Name the new group of VMs and select the No radial button for automatically adding hosts to the category.

2) Once the category is created click the green Add button in the same row as the category you just created.

3) Select Add a specific component

4) Add the VMs you would like to run the report against.

A) Create a Service (method 2)

1) Go to Homes | VMWare Environment

Select the Green Add button in the upper right hand side next to the Show drop down box.

2) Configure the Name and description

3) Add the VMs you would like to monitor

B) Apply the service to a report

1) Select the report you would like to run.

2) Configure the report as normal

3) In the service section

a) Expand All Service Categories

Select the service created by method 1

b) Expand the getVirtualCenterAndCustomServicesWithVMWareComponets

Select the service created by Method 2

4) Configure and run the rest of the report as normal
