I upgraded to 4.0 and my Switch collections are broken. They are not collecting either topology or Performance.
In version 4.0 and higher for storage the move was made to do collection pulls instead of individual calls.
It was found in the old style of Brocade collections (not BNA), this pull method does not always work.
This is a known defect in Foglight for Virtualization Enterprise referenced by Quest Tracking ID vfgls-2743.
Defect request vfgls-2743 has been submitted to Development for a fix in a future release. Please check the release notes of latest software to determine which bug fixes have been included in this release.
Workaround:
Pull Collections can be turned off in the Storage Database. This should not be impacted by future upgrades.
Step1: Run the pgAdmin application to manage the database. Contact Quest Support for the Passwords. The application is located in <vFoglight Storage Install Home>\dbctrl\bin\pgadmin3
Step 2: Add the server to the pgAdmin application.
a. Open File|add server
b. Change the New Server Registration to match the following:
Name : Localhost
Host : Localhost
Port : 5431
UserID : dbServePg
Password : dbServePg_1
This will add your server and allow you to drill down to the databases.
Step 3: Disable the Pull operations.
Expand and select the Servers | localhost Databases | HDCCS | Schema | Public | Tables | Configuration_Params
Right Click Configuration_Params, Select View Data , View All Rows.
Find "EnableCIMOMPullOps". On the far right hand side in the column “Value_bool Boolean”, change True to False.
