Foglight Management Server (FMS) supports secure connections via https. Although the server ships preinstalled with an SSL certificate, the certificate is intended for testing purposes only and is not meant for use in production.
To configure Foglight to use https, you will need to install your own SSL certificate. Foglight can be configured to use either a self-signed or a CA signed SSL certificate.
This Knowledge Article provides the steps needed to install each type of certificate.
To use CA signed certificate refer to What are the steps required to use an external signed certificate in the Foglight Management Server? (4254114).
Sometimes it may be necessary to backup and restore installed certificates. You may also want to install certificates on to an FMS that was not originally used to generate the certificate request (CSR).
For details about importing and exporting certificates, refer to Importing a PKCS12 (PFX) format certificate as the Foglight SSL Certificate (4266359).
If choosing to use a self-signed certificate, refer to How to generate a new self-signed certificate for the Foglight Management Server (4378707).
