Agents are shown as Active in Agent Status but do not appear in the Global View Databases Dashboard.
Database agents are missing and are not displayed in the Globalview databases dashboard.
The message "There is no data to display" is displayed in the databases dashboard.
No database agents are seen in the databases dashboard.
In some instances the databases dashboard may appear like one of the following two images
or
An error similar to the following may appear in the FMS log
dbwc.scripts.loadGVData - Failed to create MSSQL data for agent id [1444]. error: Cannot get property 'nt_version' on null object"
Agents which have been created but have not yet begun monitoring database metrics successfully (i.e. workload) will not appear in the database dashboard until some metrics (non-OS) have been collected.
The database agents have been deactivated for several days.
Topology duplication.
A database group was viewed without the specified database being included in the group.
In Versions below 6.0
The database tiles were used to filter agents by severity.
User level access settings limited the agents available to the user.
There are mixed cartridge versions enabled, which are not compatible, either after a manual administrative change or after an FMS or Cartridge upgrade. You cannot mix cartridge component versions.
A FMS is rebooted after a license has expired causing some cartridges to be only partially enabled.
DBSS_Version_Info collection was not enabled (for SQL Server)
Individual RAC nodes are not included in the total number of Oracle agents displayed in the database dashboard.
Database cartridges were not the same version as the Globalview cartridge
Corrupt Global View cartridge views
Review the database agent log file in Administration | Agents | Agent Status to determine if the agent is not collecting workload metrics successfully. Once workload metrics have been resolved, the agent should appear in the database dashboard.
Navigate to Administration | Agents | Agent Status and reactivate the database agents (see KB 4229398)
Best practices would be to create the agents from the agent installer wizard only.
The database agent installer wizard will run validation checkup before allowing agent creation which may prevent agents duplications.
If an agent is green in Agent Status and is not shown in Databases Dashboard , suspect topology duplication.
Next step would be to delete the topology for the agent in the proper way:
Please pay attention that the agent deletion from Agent Status is NOT required in a duplicate topology scenario.
Access the Database Groups panel, select the ALL database group.
The Status Indicators section can be used for filtering the Databases Group table to display only instances that meet a criterion set in this section. To filter the display by severity, click a specific type of severity within a specific database type (for example, SQL Server instances whose severity level is Fatal). The selected filter is then shown in the table title.
To select another filter, click the required status indicator (for example, SQL Server > Normal severity).
To display all agents for a specific agent type, click on the Database type tile.
To display the entire list of databases, click on the All Instances tile.
Refer to knowledge base article 4296032 on configuring the user access level settings.
Enable the corresponding cartridge files at the same version level (for example, the DBSS_SQL_Server and DBSS_SQL Server_UI should be at the same cartridge level. The latest DB_Global_View_UI cartridge should also be enabled.
Best practice is for all of the database cartridges to be at the highest version and to match (as close as possible) the DB_Global_View_UI version. The highest DB_Global_View_UI cartridge should always be enabled to maintain optimal support for all database cartridge versions.
If the system is has a hotfix for the DB_Global_View_UI dashboard, please contact Support to provide a revised hotfix for this issue.
Apply the new replacement Foglight license and restart the FMS.
Enable the DBSS_Version_Info collection (for SQL Server)
Only agents corresponding to Oracle RAC and database instances are counted among the total number of Oracle agents in the database dashboard.
Keep the cartridge versions the same (SQL Server, Globalview, DB2, and SQL Server). Enable the highest number version of the DB_Globalview cartridge
Navigate to Administration | Cartridges | Cartridge Inventory, then select the DB_Global_View_UI with the highest version, click the Reset button.
