Job messages are not appearing in the SQL Server agent -
Description
SQL Server jobs are visible in the top panel of the SQL Agent Jobs page, but there are no job messages displaying in the middle panel.

Cause
CAUSE 1
Job messages are time range dependent
CAUSE 2
Job messages have been purged from the database -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1
Adjust the zonar time range to include the time when the job ran on the instance.
In this example, the zonar has been changed from the default past one hour to 24 hours to view the most recent job messages.
RESOLUTION 2
The SQL Server Job Messages collection is run on-demand. Message history is not stored in the Foglight topology so it is not subject to retention. If the messages are not available and have been purged from from the monitored database they will not be available to the SQL Server agent to view.
