Cause
For connections to Dropbox, the creation of long-term access tokens is no longer supported. Long-term tokens created before version 2.10 can still be used, but new ones cannot be created. Refer to the "Dropbox Business - Connection Requirements" topic of the user documentation for details.
Some reference from Dropbox where long-lived tokens has been retired from Dropbox on September 30th, 2021.

Resolution
1) As recommended in the document do not use "Access Token" as updated in the Cause due to the retired option.
2) Use the "Access Code" method to connect as stated in the document. Please find below detailed steps.3) Create a new app to allow Essentials to connect to Dropbox (skipped to step 5 if you have done this before):
3.1) Login to Dropbox Developer (Link might update by Dropbox and always refers to dropbox changes) using your Dropbox Team Admin account.
3.2) Go to the My apps section and click Create App
3.3) On the new app creation page, select the following options
3.3.1) Choose an API: Scoped Access
3.3.2) Choose the type of access you need: Full Dropbox
3.3.3) Name your app: < enter any name required>
3.3.4) Agree to Dropbox Terms and Conditions by selecting the box next to the prompt, and the Click Create App.
4) When the app is created, it should open the App Settings page. If it does not, go back to the My Apps section and open this newly created app and click on the Settings tab.
5) Obtain the information needed to connect to Dropbox from Essentials:
5.1) Copy the Access Key and Access Secret to a file for safekeeping. You will need to enter these when making a connection to Dropbox from Essentials.
6) Open Metalogix Essentials for Office 365> your existing dropbox project / create a new dropbox connection.
6.1) Fill in the information including
- User
- App Key
- App Secret
6.2) Click Get Code.
6.3) A new tab or pop-up will display with the Generated Access Code to let you copy your Access Code Generated.
6.4) Paste the access code (acquired from step 6.3) and click Connect.
7) Verify whether the issue has been fixed. If the issue persists continue the following steps from Step 8
8) Right-click your project name and click delete.
9) Click delete project contents on disk and then Click OK. (it only will be deleted project at Essentials.)
10) Reopen Metalogix Essentials for Office 365.
11) Connect to Dropbox with Access Code, and leave Access Token Blank(repeat from Step 6). -
