Solution #1:
The last Stat 6.3 version is ONLY 64-bit, and yes, you can still run the different Stat bit version on the same machine. The Stat client installation will install the software in the proper system folder.
In this scenario, however, it's needed to consider the connectivity to the DB. You will have to use the proper bit connectivity for each version. In this case, you will have to install:
- Oracle Client 32 bit for Stat 6.2 32-bit connectivity and
- Oracle Client 64-bit for Stat 6.3 64-bit connectivity
From Stat 6.2 Release Notes, you can read the following:
To create a successful connection, the architecture (bitness) of the database client/driver must match the architecture (bitness) of the Stat Client. For example, the 64-bit Stat Client requires an applicable 64-bit database client/driver, and the 32-bit Stat Client requires an applicable 32-bit database client/driver.
