On the local PC, look for a RemoteScan Server icon in the system tray. The system tray is typically in the lower right on the Windows desktop - where the clock and the volume control icons are located. You may have to click the up arrow to show hidden tray icons.

If there is no icon for RemoteScan, then RemoteScan server may not be running. You can manually restart RemoteScan server by selecting Start | RemoteScan | RemoteScan Server
If you are presented a message saying "the RemoteScanServer product is already running," but you don't see a RemoteScan Server icon in the system tray, RemoteScan may be running as a different user or background service on this PC.
If RemoteScan server is running as a different user on the local PC, the other user will need to exit RemoteScan. If RemoteScan server is running as a Windows background service on the local PC, then stop and disable the RemoteScan service in Windows Services.
