How to modify the credentials used for RMAD processes in case the password was changed.
RMAD functionality may be altered when the account username\password stored is changed. You will have to manually enter the credentials to restore normal operations.
On the RMAD Server:
- The credentials used on the console are stored for creating scheduled backups, connecting to the backup agent (if specific credentials are in use), and accessing the backup files on the remote computer.
• Computer Collections node: These settings apply to all computer collections unless there is a specific configuration in any of them. To see if you are accessing the backup agents with specific credentials, right-click Computer Collections on the RMAD console | Agent Settings, and update the username/password.
• Specific computer collections nodes: Under the Computer Collections node on the RMAD console you will have your computer collections, these will have credential settings for scheduled backups and access to the backup agent.
- To update the credentials to access the backup agent, right-click the computer collection | Agent Settings.
- To update the credentials to run scheduled backups, right-click the computer collection | Schedule.
- To update the credentials to access the Secure Storage backups server, right-click the computer collection | Secondary Storage.
- To update the credentials to access the backups in a Remote Storage location, right-click the computer collection | Remote Storage.
SQL Server Services (if the default SQL Express instance was installed in the RMAD server):
Open the Windows Services Snap-in (services.msc) and check the credentials under which the SQL Server (instance name, typically “QUESTRMAD”) related services are running and update them accordingly.
