LF (Line Feed) and CR (Carriage Return) shows as a small square in the table data (4317117)

When displaying a table with a text field that contains LF (Line Feed) and CR (Carriage Return) characters are shown as an unprintable character like a small square in 8.6 or a vertical line in 9.0.0.117 (BETA). This data shows in the Oracle Web Forms at runtime as a square, and sometimes (when the field is in edit mode) it does not.

This issue happens generally when an import is done with older versions of Oracle

Since Oracle Web Forms(another application product) also displays the squares, this is an Oracle issue and not a Toad issue.
