KACE Kontinuing Education (KKE) Recording: What's New - SDA 7.0 – WIM Import! (4306030)

In this What's New in 7.0 video, we will cover the new WIM Import feature.

This new feature can be used to:

• Perform WIM Management on an existing Deployment
• Download the WIM file (for offline servicing)
• Import a replacement the WIM file

OR

• Import a WIM to create a new Deployment

This new feature allows you to upload WIMs from the SDA's Clientdrop share - whether captured and downloaded from your SDA or some other source. These imported WIMs can be used to create new deployments, or replace the WIMs in existing deployments.

A common scenario for which you might use this new feature is to update an image deployment that is missing newer patches.  Let's say your current image is a few months old…you could build a new one - complete with current patches - sysprep it of course, and capture it.  Then download it - make modifications if you wish - copy it to the clientdrop share of your SDA, and import it via the appliance web-interface.  Et voila - an imported WIM file!
