There are two ways to get to the Log Viewer:
1. From Configuration Manager, go to Information > View Logs in the lower right-hand corner
2. From Configuration Manager, go to Manage Discoveries > Log Viewer in the upper right-hand corner
Using log viewer:
By default, the only logs loaded are logs that are on the Enterprise reporter server - these are the ReporterServer logs, which contain report events and discovery events and DatabaseMaintenance logs, which are written during Enterprise Reporter upgrades, cleans, etc.
The log viewer by default opens up the log path of Enterprise Reporter, and by default this is C:\ProgramData\Quest\Enterprise_Reporter\.
This can be changed by opening a log that exists in another folder, which will then put the focus on the parent folder of the log selected, so that you can access other logs within the same folder.
The bottom-right pane will show a list of "imported" log files. These are logs that you have loaded into the log viewer.
Every file in here is currently viewable in the main pane, it combines all the logs together to make it easier to correlate events.
To unload them, highlight the log file to unload, and click the " - " button.
To load node logs, you must first export them, which will collect them off of the node machines.
To do this, go to "Manage Discoveries" > "Manage Logs" > "Export Logs" > Choose a cluster and let it complete.
These will appear in a folder titled "Exported Logs", under C:\ProgramData\Quest\Enterprise_Reporter, and you can drill down into the structure to find the appropriate .log file and load it for viewing.
You can also click "Unzip" to put them into a permanent location, but you do not need to do this to load them into the viewer.
You can filter the logs to get rid of unnecessary information by clicking "Filters" once you have a log file loaded.
Node logs often have long periods of information in them, so you can narrow it down to a certain date range here.
Use the other filter options to narrow down what you are looking for.
To the left of the "Filters" button
Next to the "Details" button, there are two navigation options which let you skip between ERROR entries in the logs.
To the left of those navigation options are the search field, and the navigation arrows used in searching the logs.
