RUU Install does not start "There is no script engine for file extension '.vbs'" -
Descripción
After starting RUU and selecting English as the language for the installer, the RUU hangs.
You will find the following errors in the RUU logs:
Pvconf: Command result [Input Error: There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs".~]GetOSVersionStr(): OSCheckPath returned with exitcode 1GetOSVersionStr(): Returning nullException caught during version check Exception of type 'Dell_Recov_Util.DellGenericErrorException' was thrown.
An invalid Operating System was detected. Expected version is Windows Server 2012 or laterNote: RUU Logs Default Path is: "C:\Program Files\AppRecovery\RUU" DL_RUU_log-Month-Day-Year(Date).log
The path for Legacy RUU versions used to be "C:\Program Files\Dell\Appliances\DL\RUU"

Causa
Visual Basic Scripts 'vbs' file types are associated with an Application other than Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe) located at C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe, due to Group Policy pushed from Active Directory or other manual restrictions to prevent Visual Basic Scripts from running on the DL Core Server OS.

Resolución
- Confirm that customer is running RUULaunch.exe as Administrator.
- Validate if 'VBS' files are associated with Microsoft Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe):
- Verify by going to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Default Programs > Set Associations.
- You can also manually re-associate and make default program for Microsoft Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe) and 'VBS' file extensions:
- To re-associate the vbs files with Microsoft Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe) can use: ".vbs"assoc .vbs=VBSFile
- To re-register the Microsoft Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe) can use: ‘Regsvr32 vbscript.dll’
- To set Microsoft Windows Based Script Host (Wscript.exe) as the current default program can use: "cscript.exe //H:WScript"
- If it is not, then check if it is being forced/blocked by a Group Policy or it was manually changed and fix it.
