Cannot connect to iDRAC console after Java been updated -
Descripción
After Java has been upgraded on the workstation, it's no longer possible to launch iDRAC Virtual Console from iDRAC webpage. iDRAC firmware is version 1.x. Trying to connect to iDRAC causes error: "network connection been dropped" -
Causa
Issue is caused by the Java security changes which disable 3DES_EDE_CBC TLS algorithm -
Resolución
To resolve the issue, please do that on workstation:
- navigate to c:\Program Files\Java\lib\security
- open file java.security with Notepad
- comment out 2 lines and copy them there without 3DES_EDE_CBC entry. Example code:
#jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, MD5withRSA, DH keySize < 1024, \
# EC keySize < 224, DES40_CBC, RC4_40, 3DES_EDE_CBC
jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, MD5withRSA, DH keySize < 1024, \
EC keySize < 224, DES40_CBC, RC4_40- repeat the same for file in c:\Program Files(x86)\Java\lib\security folder
- save files, close and reopen browser and open iDRAC page again
Better yet, it's highly recommended to boot the DL appliance to the Lifecycle Controller and initiate firmware updates, so iDRAC/BIOS/etc will be upgraded to the most recent versions.
