Time zone variable for Alert Email not set correctly if Alert is enabled by right-clicking the Search. The correct Time Zone appears to be set correctly if you view Alert Body Configuration Preview.
When the Email Alert is configured by Right clicking a Search and selecting Alert | Enable Transport | SMTP the %timezone% variable for the Email Alert will not be properly set. The result will cause Email Alert Date/Time Detected and Date/Time Received to be displayed in UTC.
The Alert will appear without time zone information. For example:
Date/Time Detected: 20/09/2013 7:42:46 PM -
Date/Time Received: 20/09/2013 7:43:00 PM –
The Alert should appear similar to the following:
Date/Time Detected: 20/09/2013 3:42:46 PM - (UTC-04:00) Atlantic Time (Canada)
Date/Time Received: 20/09/2013 3:40:00 PM - (UTC-04:00) Atlantic Time (Canada)
