When an entire mailbox is restored, many items appear as unread. You might be asking the following questions:
This is by design. If the item was archived as unread, it will be restored as an unread email.
You may verify if the archive setting ''Activate archiving of unread messages'' is enabled. It is enabled by default. More details can be found in the product documentation - Archive settings
