NOTES:
When upgrading from a version of mart server prior to 9.8 version to a later version of the mart server you should first upgrade to 9.8 mart server as an intermediate step and then upgrade to the later version.
If you are upgrading from 2020 R1 you need to first upgrade to 2020 r1 sp1 and then to 2020 r2 before you can upgrade to a later version.
Also, when running the mart configure window to update the database please make sure that the mart server service (or server) is stopped while performing the upgrade.

Licensing: Licenses earlier than 12.5 can be used with 12.5 as long as as long as your maintenance support is active on the license contract, users can upgrade up to the latest version. Please open an issue with licensing at support.quest.com if you have any questions.- Steps to upgrade from Mart Server to Mart Portal:
Run the shortcut to Stop the mart server service and delete it
Uninstall the previous mart server software
Install the new erwin Mart Portal 12.5 software
Run the shortcut Configure Mart Portal

Create the erwin Mart Portal service
Start the Mart Portal service
Login to the martportal web browser

The last step is to upgrade erwin DM to 12.5 version of erwin DM, open each of the models using 12.5 erwin DM, and save them back to the mart portal one time. The next time the models are opened they will open as 12.5 version. This is a one time hit and you can open and save the models as you go so you don't have to do this all at one time - unless you want to.
