Hostnames are cached at two points when configuring the project.
1. During a full "Verify Settings" of the project, hostnames and IP addresses are cached and stored for later use.
2. In Forest Recovery console, go to Tools > Manage > DNS Client Settings
This will also collect and cache the IPs and hostnames
If all configured DNS servers are unreachable when a restore is initiated, the stored IP addresses are used for restore procedures instead.
Either Verify Settings, or going into the DNS Client Settings should be done at regular intervals, especially if the DC IPs may regularly change.
