EWS throttling is a default feature in Exchange Online designed to manage resource usage and ensure server stability. However, during migrations, these restrictions can significantly impact performance.
To improve migration performance, you can request an increase to the EWS throttling policy in Office 365 – Exchange Online by following these steps:
Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
Sign in using your admin credentials at the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Create a New Service Request:
Run Diagnostic Tests:
Set the Throttling Policy Duration:
Confirmation of Success:
If prompted that Microsoft needs to manually apply the changes, click Contact Support and create a new service request for assistance.
